Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster Review

Image result for walking disaster

I was walking around Walmart when I found Beautiful Disaster. What caught my attention was the cover and the description of the book. Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. She also has a past she doesn't ever want to talk about or go back to. When she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One Night Stand, Travis Maddox. He is dripping sex appeal and temptation, he's lean, cut, and covered in tattoos. What else could you possibly ask for? Travis comes from a all boy family. As a child he lost his mother, which probably has something to do with the whole Walking One Night Stand status he has. Travis spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days on campus. He is deeply intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, so much that he's willing to risk his current lifestyle. Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, both are in for a tug of war of the heart. I had never heard of the author, Jaime McGuire but I'm glad I found her book. Her first pages drew me in, I'll be honest here Travis is a alpha male character but he does however have his soft side. It all comes with the territory of his past, the same goes for Abby (except she's not an alpha male lol). Niether one of them has had a fairytale childhood and you see it in both books Beautiful Disaster is the book based on Abby's POV, and it serves as the backbone of the series. Then in Walking Disaster you get Travis' POV, which definetly adds more to it and it becomes a window into his soul, because you get to read his thoughts and feelings. I would recommend these books if you're looking for something new to read that has a bit of edge to it along with romance and some catchy names for the main characters!

"If A Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever." A very well learned lesson in Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster.

Held Against You Review

Okay everyone sorry for the delay in the blog posting that was finishing up finals and all but awful end of school year stuff. Anyways I'm here writing today because I read another book by Season Vining. What got my attention about this book was the author because I've read one of her books before and I loved it so I figured I would love this book. Season Vining just has this vibe in her books that makes the story so captivating. This book is a stand alone novel and is 276 pages long in paperback. Held Against You is a dual POV tale  in which more than one person has a secret. This book has its main characters Kat is girl on the run from a crime she committed and the sexy bounty hunter that's chasing after her ;). Kat has chosen a path far away from her problems, she flees after making bail. Running away from her life and everything she knew, including herself. But after her encounter with the sexy bounty hunter that has found her and is determined to bring her back to his employer she is skeptical about what her fate will be. Especially when she finds that she is just as attracted to the sexy bounty hunter as he is attracted to her. This story really becomes a cat and mouse game in more ways than one. Held Against You is definitely a book to read. I've got to give Season Vining props for this romantic, suspenseful young adult book. I love her work and she still keeps me guessing right until the end. I love how she is able to write about her and damaged people and how they pull through through some crazy experience that bonds them together. I also enjoy how she is able to incorporate humor action and romance into her books this one had quite a bit of action I can't really give out anymore because I really want people to read her book.

"I don't know why there's a bounty on her head and I don't care. It's not part of my job to care. My job is to find her and bring her in." - The sexy bounty hunter.

"As for this bounty hunter, I'm not sure what to make of him. He's immune to my weepy crying girl act, so I'd say he probably tortured small animals have a child. With his stunning good looks, he's a far cry from Dog, the Bounty Hunter. I'm thankful for that, because who wants to spend days in a car with all that hair and pleather?"-Kat

"Kat's fingers claw at my back as she pulls in tighter, muffling her sobs against my chest. It's overwhelming, the feeling of her body pressed against mine, along with the smell of her hair and the push and pull of her breath. I'm not sure of what I'm doing."-The sexy bounty hunter.

Harry Potter

Hey everyone so one name, two words, Harry Potter...Man, I love that character. I as many of you, I grew up reading about him. He was my one reason I looked forward to going to school. My third grade teacher first started reading the story to us. When she got busy she would just put on the audio recording of it. I came to love Harry's story and his journey. I absolutely love the Harry Potter books and movies, yes the movies are not perfectly like the book, but seldom things are. When the books and movies finally ended it was like the end of an era, except that now I get to enjoy it all over again when I read and watch the movies with my younger nieces and nephews. It's like a revival when they hear about Harry Potter for the first time. I don't care what movies Daniel Radcliffe stars in, to me he will always be Harry Potter the boy who lived.

I have a treat for you fans of Harry Potter. I want you to know that there is this charming Etsy store called, The Nerd Boutique by Marilyn Marinn. She does custom Harry Potter stuff. I love her work, for a random surprise my fiancĆ© gave me one of her fabulous creations. He got me a Harry Potter wallet. I've had it for about a year and I love it. A bonus is that it has stayed in good condition so far. It hasn't broken down shown signs of wear and tear. It's not only Harry Potter that this girl does, she also does art work in Alice in Wonderland, Lord of the Rings, the Wizard of Oz, The Chronicles of Narnia, Game of Thrones and many more. I don't know how she does it, but I love it and I'm sure many of you fans of any of these series will as well.https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheNerdBoutique/sold?page=11 here is the link. Also she makes wallets, shoes, purses, and flowers you should check her out for a cute creation.

Insurgent

I did it!  I went to go see Insurgent and it was action packed! Best way to kick off the weekend. I loved seeing Eric get his ass handed to him by Tris. He's so conceited, he deserved any  fight he got hit in. Although he is tricky and it came in hand for him. I won't say more because I don't want to ruin it for everyone. I hated that the girls behind me were acting so immature and getting phone calls through our the movie. Doing their voices over what the characters were not saying,  and taking at the movie when something happened they didn't like (not that these girls even read the book). It was so annoying. I enjoyed seeing the memes for Insurgent they cracked me up.

Beautiful Addictions

Erika, Erika my coworker has done it again! She once again came to me with a great book! I really need to go shopping with her when she goes to the bookstore. She chose Beautiful Addictions by Season Vining.
I want to say that cover was intriguingly beautiful and I love it. With that being said, I was impressed with the story. This is not your typical love story of boy next door romance or a billionaire hero who sweeps a damsel in distress but a story of REAL FLAWED characters. The story is about out mysterious Josie, a girl without a past. She doesn't know who she was before, she doesn't know where she came from. She endured being shuffled in and out of foster homes after being found without a memory, and she managed to escape those foster homes (where she suffered years of abuse). Now as an adult all she lives for is what her life is now. (which is living in the unknown, shrouded in mystery as she lurks in smoky bars engulfed in darkness and loses herself in her drawings.)  When she's not lost in bars and her drawings she's usually lost in

But that's besides the point, she had a rough life at least what she remembers about it. She is not your typical heroine but she come out fighting for those she loves. Then there's the intriguing Tristan, the guy she quietly watches while he works. She cracks me up with her whole:

This book had it all from first love, second chances, sex, drugs, crime, depression and loss. I won't say more because it's definitely a book worth reading.
